Yesterday, Western Hills High School continued its celebrations for National Agriculture Week with a special morning assembly. The event featured Miss Kentucky, Chapel Tinius, who shared her inspiring journey and insights with our officer team.
The assembly concluded with a heartfelt recognition of one of our dedicated Western Hills Agriculture Teachers, Jeffrey Shaffer, who was honored as a Golden Owl Award recipient. Mr. Shaffer's contributions to agricultural education are remarkable, having established the Bondurant Middle School agriculture department in 2017. He has since transitioned over to WHHS and has made an impact on several hundred kids in his tenure. His unwavering commitment and passion for teaching have profoundly impacted our community, making him a deserving recipient of this prestigious award. We always love to see him flippin' patties, selling pumpkins, or growing mums.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Western Hills FFA for organizing this memorable event and for their ongoing support in promoting agricultural education. A special shoutout to Carter Hutcherson for nominating Mr. Shaffer for this award.
