Last week, Franklin County School Board Chair Jennifer Kantner brought her wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the Career Cafe, engaging with 8th graders about her role in Government and Public Administration. 


As an elected official, Jennifer shared insights into the responsibilities and requirements of being a school board member, explaining how districts are divided among board members and detailing her day-to-day duties.

Jennifer Kantner, who has been serving on the Franklin County School Board since 2023captivated the students with stories of her favorite parts of the job, including interacting with students at graduation ceremonies, concerts, and athletic events. Her dedication to education and community service was evident as she spoke passionately about her role.

From the district's perspective, Jennifer's visit underscores the importance of connecting students with real-world experiences and role models. Her involvement in the Career Cafe not only provided valuable information but also inspired students to consider careers in public service.
